About Laura
Integrative Relational Counsellor
I’m an integrative counsellor working with adults aged 18 and over. I support people with challenges in intimate relationships as well as other areas of life, and I work with a wide range of individuals from different backgrounds.
My approach is holistic, looking at emotional, mental, and social wellbeing. I aim to offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
I have a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Relational Therapy from Hull University and I’m a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in line with their ethical guidelines.
I also hold a CICS certificate in Intimate Partner Therapy.
Before becoming a counsellor, I had a varied career including roles in retail, student and youth support, and floristry. I ran my own florist business for many years and still teach floristry. More recently, I’ve facilitated domestic abuse programmes, building on 18 years’ experience as a domestic abuse advisor.
My passions are my garden, food and the outdoors.

About counselling
Integrative counselling is a flexible and holistic approach to therapy that combines techniques and insights from different therapeutic models, such as person-centred, psychodynamic, systemic and cognitive-behavioural therapy. More recently, fourth-wave theories have been integrated into client work, such as solution-focused narrative therapy and other 21st-century theories. It is believed these add a more rounded and inclusive approach to work with our diverse cultures. Drawing on these methods, integrative counselling tailors the therapeutic process to suit each individual's unique needs, goals, beliefs and experiences.
This personalised approach can help people better understand themselves, their emotions, and their behaviours while equipping them with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or personal growth, integrative counselling provides a supportive space for exploring their thoughts and feelings, promoting self-awareness, healing, and lasting positive change.
I am currently offering One-at-a-Time (OAAT) sessions—providing focused, immediate support without a long-term commitment.
These sessions can help with confidence building, clarity, and practical takeaway tools to try before investing more time or money.
Research shows that for some people, one session is all that’s needed to create meaningful change.
