About Laura
Integrative Relational Counsellor
I am an integrative counsellor working with adults from 18 years old specialising in relationships, as well as working with a diverse population. My holistic approach addresses the emotional, mental, and social aspects of my clients' well-being. I am dedicated to creating a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Relational Therapy from Hull University and hold membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I follow BACP's ethical guidelines.

I came to counselling after a varied career including retail, student and youth support, and floristry, having run my own florist business for many years. I also teach floristry and, more recently, have facilitated domestic abuse programmes following 18 years as a domestic abuse advisor.

I am a keen gardener and animal lover and enjoy all things in nature.

About counselling
Integrative counselling is a flexible and holistic approach to therapy that combines techniques and insights from different therapeutic models, such as person-centred, psychodynamic, systemic and cognitive-behavioural therapy. More recently, fourth-wave theories have been integrated into client work, such as solution-focused narrative therapy and other 21st-century theories. It is believed these add a more rounded and inclusive approach to work with our diverse cultures. Drawing on these methods, integrative counselling tailors the therapeutic process to suit each individual's unique needs, goals, beliefs and experiences.
This personalised approach can help people better understand themselves, their emotions, and their behaviours while equipping them with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or personal growth, integrative counselling provides a supportive space for exploring their thoughts and feelings, promoting self-awareness, healing, and lasting positive change.
